Flu & Covid Vaccinations

Posted on:

We will be contacting patients eligible for a flu vaccine by the end of September.

Nurse Shaun is arranging for housebound patients to be visited and be offered both a flu and covid vaccination at the same time.

All other eligible patients will be sent a text that allows you to click a link and book into a flu vaccination time slot.

We are working with our GP federation to provide covid vaccinations here at Villa Street at the same time as the flu clinic (fingers-crossed!). If you prefer to have the vaccines separately there will be alternative locations available to book your covid vaccine.

Most patients eligible for a free flu vaccine are also eligible for a free covid vaccine:

  • All adults aged 65 years and over
  • Persons aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group (school age children will be vaccinated at school, not at Villa Street)
  • Frontline health and social care workers (if coded on medical records)
  • Persons aged 12 to 64 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression (if coded on medical records)
  • Persons aged 16 to 64 years who are carers and staff working in care homes for older adults (if coded on medical records)
  • Residents in a care home for older adults

For patients not eligible for a free flu vaccine you can get one at your local pharmacist – usually costs about £10.
