Young People Services

We provide confidential services to all of our patients including young people, even if you are under 16 years of age.

This means we won’t tell anyone else about your visit without your permission (this is sometimes called consent).

The only time we ever share information without your consent is if you or someone else could be in danger. We would always talk to you about this first.

You can talk to a GP (doctor) about so many different things no matter what your age. Here are a few ideas of what you can talk to us about:

Abusive behaviour – verbal, physical or sexual

Acne

Anger

Anxiety

Bullying

Carers

Contraception

Drugs & alcohol

Feeling low or depressed

Period problems

Relationships

Self harm

Sexuality

Sexual Health

Smoking & vaping

Stress

You can make your own appointment and be seen on your own even if you are under 16 years old.

You can bring a friend or a parent or anyone you trust.

You can book an appointment by calling us on 020 7703 7393, or coming to reception and asking in person. We also have online options click on this link for more information.

If you call us at 8 am in the morning we always have next working day appointments available, or if you have something very urgent we can ask a doctor to call you back that morning. If you call later in the day and all the next working day appointments have been booked, there will always be appointments in the next 3 to 4 weeks available to book. Sometimes that might feel a long time away so if you are very worried about something, let the receptionist know and they will try to help to get the right option for you. If you want to speak privately, let them know and they will find a quiet space for you to talk.

We can change the contact details on your notes so that we only message you.

If you are unsure, ask anyone at the practice and we will try to help.

There are also lots of other services that we can connect you with and if you look at our online options there is an button to click on that takes you directly to lots of services you can self referral to – scroll down the list to see all the different options and links.

Worth knowing that we have free condoms available (we do not ask your age). Just ask at reception (they will be very discreet) or in your appointment and we can give you a few in a paper bag to take away with you there and then.

We know that it can be difficult to always know what to do, so if you are unsure just ask and if we don’t know the answer we can find out and contact you later with more information.
